YAUSUBETSU TRAINING AREA, HOKKAIDO, Japan - A Marine, right, posts security with Japan Ground Self-Defense Force members during exercise Forest Light 12-2 here March 10. The purpose of Forest Light 12-2 is to enhance the interoperability of Marines and JGSDF members while increasing individual and unit readiness in a cold weather environment. The Marines are from 3rd Marine Logistics Group, III Marine Expeditionary Force and the JGSDF members are from 4th Infantry Regiment, 5th Brigade, JGSDF. (U.S. Marine Corps photo by 2nd Lt.
